Heirloom Sewing
Judy Rust and Andrea LaVergne are licensed Martha Pullen Heirloom instructors for Janome sewing machines. These French Sewing skills are in addition to their Home Economics degrees, years of sewing and teaching.
All of the Heirloom Classes can also be taken in Andrea's Wednesday ongoing
open sewing lab 9:30-12:00 or 1:00-3:30.
| Beginning French Sewing Techniques with Judy Rust |

Prerequiste for all Heirloom Classes Learn to use your machine to do french sewing that was once done only by hand. French sewing techniques included using lace, entredeux, and batiste. The best way to make
beautiful heirloom clothes is by incorporating picture-perfect construction techniques. This class is designed for those students just learning, for those needing a refresher course and for those whose construction techniques are not just what they want them to be. Topics will included straightening fabric, learning how to trim, finish, press seams, and how to make beautiful gathers. This will be a notebook class where you will make many samples.

| Lace Shaping with Judy Rust |
Class Fee $25 |
Prerequiste for all Heirloom Classes except serger shell and puff pillow. This is a technique class to help you master lace shaping and needle entredeux. Five sample blocks, including lace bow, diamond, heart and circles will be made. A lace windowpane effect will be created on each sample. Experimentation with different hemstitches and needles on you sample will allow you to discover which stitches are mor appropriate for different projects.

| Ballet Tulip Shadow Applique

| A beginning class to apply your French sewing and lace shaping techniques. Additional techniques of motif embroidery, shadow work, shadow applique, and decorative stitching will be used to complete an heirloom pillowcase.

| This self lined shell is a must for every wardrobe. Since there are no darts you can wear it front to back and inside out. Done entirely on the serger -- lace insertion, pintucks, and

| This quilt consists of nine blocks, each featuring a different technique in heirloom sewing. Diamond lace shaping, Normandy lace, Sharks teeth, Madeira applique,
circular puffing, French Waterfall, Flip-flop Bow, Crazy patch, and gimp
work, are some of the techniques used in this quilt. This would be a
wonderful heirloom for the new baby. . Ten 2.5 hour classes.
